Successful Business Growth: August Luncheon Review

Posted by Becky Whittington on October 10, 2012

It was unanimous. Successful business growth involves a servant-approach, concurred all three panelists for the August membership luncheon: Ron Stokes (President/CEO of Three Leaf Productions), Jerry Guy (President/CEO of Kemba Financial Credit Union), and Emanuel Torres (Economic Development Manager, City of Gahanna Planning& Development Dept.).

The discussion, facilitated by Erin O’Donnell (Owner of Step Beyond), explored the strategies these three organizations have implemented to help them increase revenue, penetrate new markets, improve employee performance, and grow their brand.

Ron Stokes focused on team work within his company, as well as with their clients. Implementing incentive programs for both has produced a steady growth in the company revenue. Creating educational partnerships with both has also produced an avenue for new market penetration.

Jerry Guy discussed the benefits Kemba has experienced in transitioning from a transactional approach to a relational one with its members. He emphasized the need for improved internal and external communication for employees, and how taking deliberate action to improve such has benefited Kemba’s bottom line.

Emanuel Torres explained how creating an emotional connection for clients and customers helps clarify and strengthen your brand in the community and the marketplace. By explaining the incentives and resources the city of Gahanna has to help support the growth and expansion of its business community, he stressed the value of strong relationships between the government and the community.

Audience participation was welcomed and encouraged, and relevant questions were asked. The panelists provided practical, useful answers.
